After four months of owning Zefir, the owner noticed health problems. The story began during the transport of the horse from Poznań to Mazury, where upon arrival, the horse had watery nasal discharge. After three days, Zefir developed a cough and purulent nasal discharge. Similar symptoms appeared in other horses in the stable, indicating a viral infection. ZEFIR, GELDING, 7 YEARS, SPK
I have been the owner of a horse for four months. The story began during the transport of the horse from Poznań to Mazury when, upon arrival, the horse had a slight nasal discharge which was watery. After about three days, the horse developed a cough and purulent nasal discharge, as did other horses in the stable, so it is likely that Zefir brought a viral infection to our stable. The veterinarian recommended administering expectorants and anti-inflammatory medications.
This treatment worked for the other horses in the stable, but Zefir's condition was a bit more serious. The medications were not effective, and the cough and nasal discharge persisted. We also started supporting the horse with herbs dedicated to coughing horses, such as those with symptoms of chronic respiratory inflammation and RAO.
Unfortunately, without much success, the horse continued to cough, especially during work under the saddle, at the beginning of the trot, and in the gallop.
We decided to take the horse to the clinic and perform a bronchoscopy and collect material for BAL tests.
During the examination, it turned out that the horse had a large amount of thick purulent discharge in the respiratory tract, which it could not cough up on its own. Fortunately, the BAL tests did not confirm RAO.
The diagnosis was a post-inflammatory condition. A short course of steroid therapy, antibiotics, and inhalations was recommended. This therapy only produced effects for a week, after which the cough returned.
EFFECTS OF USING HEMPQUALIZER+:
Due to the persistent cough symptoms, which were most noticeable when using the horse under the saddle, and the relatively short duration of steroid effectiveness, we decided to give the horse a break from medications and start administering the Hempqualizer+ product.
After about three to four days of starting Hempqualizer, the cough calmed down, even during work under the saddle.
Another effect was the calming of the horse, which tends to be skittish and very energetic. After using Hempqualizer+, the horse became much calmer.
The horse was not sluggish but focused on work and calm. I administered 3 ml of Hempqualizer.
During the therapy, I used two tubes and continued supporting Zefir with inhalations.
To summarize, Hempqualizer helped us eliminate the chronic post-inflammatory condition, calm the horse, and assist him during the transition period after changing stables and curing the cough.
