CALMING, ULCERS-OSTOVAR

Ostovar, an 11-year-old Akhal-Teke gelding, is a horse with exceptional character and energy. As a cherished family companion, he enjoys daily interaction with people and training based on natural horsemanship methods. Despite his wonderful traits and disciplined behavior, Ostovar's health deteriorated in the autumn. He lost his appetite, body condition, and calm demeanor, while muscle tension further affected his mood and comfort.

Ostovar, 11 years old, gelding, Akhal-Teke horseOstovar has been a family horse for a year. He is an energetic, excitable Akhal-Teke, easily stimulated by his surroundings. He is kept on free range during summer and paddocked during the day in winter, always with constant access to hay, grass, and water. Thanks to continuous training using natural horsemanship methods (JNBT), he is disciplined and well-mannered, despite his spirited nature.

PROBLEM:After recovering from ulcers in the summer and feeling great, Ostovar lost his appetite and body mass in autumn, despite an appropriate diet and anti-ulcer supplements. He was in light, continuous training but became noticeably agitated and nervous, moving around while being saddled. His physiotherapist identified muscle tension in the poll and back and suggested introducing Hempqualizer alongside using a winter rug. The horse follows an ulcer-friendly diet with anti-ulcer supplements, probiotics, and excluded allergens. We also utilize Masterson Method massages, physiotherapy, biomechanically sound training, and groundwork and riding based on natural methods.

RESULTS OF USING HEMPQUALIZER:We introduced Hempqualizer hoping for calming effects, muscle relaxation, anti-inflammatory, and analgesic properties. Initially, we used 4 ml of Hempqualizer, gradually reducing the dose but saw no significant effects. After switching to Hempqualizer+ and starting with a 3 ml dose, we noticed a marked improvement. The horse remained calm during saddling, had relaxed muscles around the head, and no tension in the poll. Gradually, we reduced the dose to 1 ml every few days, and the effects persisted. Ostovar became visibly more relaxed, often resting lying down on hay in the paddock during the day. Combined with anti-ulcer supplements, all ulcer symptoms disappeared, and the horse regained weight. At the same time, he maintained energy for riding and enthusiasm during training, easily transitioning from high-energy work and fast paces to stretching and relaxation during breaks.
